French oysters
Beautiful oysters are found particularly in northwest France. These are oysters from Gillardeau, which has been providing delicious oysters since 1898. Oysters from Normandy and Brittany, the two main regions. Try Archachon or the Charente Maritime and savor these true delicacies.
Gillardeau dealership
Since 2019 Adri & Zoon has been a Gillardeau dealer for the Benelux region. We are very proud of this. Special Gillardeau oysters are known as the Rolls Royces of French oysters. Every day, these beautiful oysters arrive directly from Marennes-Oléron to Adri & Zoon. At Maison Gillardeau, they select their oysters with great care. The oysters must have a regular shape, round, and a certain volume. A Special Gillardeau oyster undergoes no fewer than 59 processes from cultivation to the consumer's plate. Special Gillardeau oysters gain their flavor after processing in farms in Ireland, Scotland, Portugal, and Utah Beach. Then they are matured in the "claires" of Marennes-Oléron. These various processes give them an exceptional flavor, somewhere between sweet and salty. They are simultaneously tender and crispy, like a steak.
Zeeland oysters
Zeeland is a breeding ground for both creuse and flat oysters. With international allure and a certain rarity, the Zeeland flat oyster is the queen of oysters. Its creamy and refined flavor make the flat oyster a global delicacy. Farming the Zeeland flat oyster is challenging. Only experienced growers can master the craft.
Irish oysters
Of course, you can also find Irish oysters at Adri & Zoon . In our webshop, you'll find Ireland Finest and Juliana Special oysters. Irish oysters have a delicate briny flavor and can be served plain, or, as in Ireland, with lemon and hot sauce.
